Two Poems
Two Poems
by Tim Frank
Clubbing is like War
Invade the dance floor
Drop some pills
Ravage the women
Plunder the men
Return home disfigured
Suffer PTSD
Never sleep again.
It’s Always Sunny in Heaven
It’s awful
No one sleeps—
The sun burns like a scalpel
Dissecting blood red eyes;
Sears like the glowing embers
Of a morning fire.
Give me hell instead
Where there’s nothing but the dark,
So I can hide
Among the horror
Of ice-cold nighttime dreams,
Where it’s just my soul that burns.
